Costs To Streaming Video Companies
TCA has always carried the local networks ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. These networks are free over the air networks but because TCA is a streaming video company, TCA is required to have a “Retransmission” contract with each of these networks due to the 1992 United States Cable Act that allows the networks to charge a retransmission fee. This is a charge to deliver or retransmit their signal to you, our subscriber yet their signal is free with an antenna! The “fee” to do this is renegotiated every 3 years by contract and details what the cost is for the new contract date as well as built-in increases each year.
